Family Mini-Golf

To start off the July 4th week, we went to Cascade Golf course and had a BBQ and played miniature golf with the whole family. Good times were had by all.

CILLA'S BIRTHDAY!

After eating a yummy dinner including all my Mom's favorites, my Dad surprised us all with the most amazing birthday cake I have ever seen.  On the cake, was my Mom's 'road through life'.  The road started at the bottom tier of the cake with my Mom and Dad's wedding, and wound around all three tiers, including all of the kid's birthdays (every single birthday was wrong, and my Dad claims he gave the cake maker the correct birthdays and she messed them up- I am not quite so sure), each of the grandkids, and all of my Mom's favorite things like 'Cilla's day', home, and music.  It was so fun to look at, we admired it forever and almost didn't dare cut into it to eat because it was too cute to ruin.

After we admired the cake, there was a surprise knock at the door.  It was one our longtime family friends- Del Moody.  He had written a birthday song (my Dad asked him) for my Mom.  It was the sweetest, and most hilarious song ever.  He has a beautiful voice, and got my Mom down to a tee.

To top off the night, the entire family took a walk around the block together.  It was so enjoyable.  I hope my Mom had the best birthday ever.  Thanks Dad for being so sweet and thoughtful, and putting it all together.  We all love you both.

Cilla's 60th Birthday

We celebrated Cilla's birthday tonight and Frank had Del Moody come over and perform a song that he wrote for her.

Disneylandry

Dave, Shea, Landry, Livy, Grandpa Frank and Grandma Cilla went to Los Angeles for a combination mini vacation and business trip. We all had a great time even though it was a little cold and rainy the day we went to Disneyland--Landry didn't notice.

Here we are just arriving at Disneyland on the shuttle train.

Its a small world afterall

The least scariest ride of the day.

A little scared, more scared, and ok

Lanny was not too excited to get close to captain hook--scary. But Goofy wasn't quite as scary

Captain Lanny

Dinner at Disneylandry--the baloon man outfitted Lanny with a unique helmet and sword and belt. I got Lanny to give me a "momma" canned smile:)

Hot and Cold

Cilla was cold all day at Disneyland, and I got a little too warm and took off my sweater and let Cilla add it to her collection of winter wear. Cilla came without any money so I gave her $50 which she spent at the first store --hat, gloves, scarf.

More Memories

Now about 30 years later--looks as good as ever (she won't like me doing this on the blog but she doesn't know how to erase it :)

I wanna have long hair

Sommer was really slow to grow her hair--and quite impatient with the process, so she would create her own long hair with the help of a dishtowel and ponytail holder

Shea-be

Shea's hair grew very fast and even as a preschooler, she had a long beautiful head of red hair. All her life she has received compliments on her beautiful hair.

Where's the Beans

Spencer's favorite food as a little toddler was pureed green beans. When he was in his walker, he would always make a bee-line to the pantry and find the green beans.

Walk Down Memory Lane

Priscilla went through a bunch of old slides and had them put on to a disc so we can do a little walk through memory lane on our blog.
